Here it is! The first episode of a show I have been dreaming of for a long time: Being Springfield.
The idea behind the show is simple, and selfish: I wanna learn more about people who aren't considered the "majority" like me. I mean, I'm white. I'm a man. I grew up in a Protestant house. I live in a predominantly white area. THAT is almost the epitome of "majority."
So, today, we kick things off with Being Black In Springfield. The show features four incredible guests from right here in Springfield: Cheryl Clay, Antoinette Shields, Caleb Thomas & Joshua Rodriguez. The interview touches on everything from race relations and stereotypes, to police and politics. All of it real. All of it local.
So please, take a listen, and if you like it - pass it on by sharing the show with people around you. Thanks!
