After Clare Crawley and Dale Moss found love on The Bachelorette earlier this year, the pair left the show mid-way through the season to find their happily ever after. Unfortunately, Crawley and Moss called in quits on their whirlwind engagement just five months later.
According to a source close to the situation, Moss realized he wasn't ready to take his relationship with Crawley to the next level. "Dale wasn't ready for marriage and kids," the insider told People. "He did have feelings for Clare but he wasn't on the same page as her."
Crawley "quickly found out" that Moss "had cold feet, but she was really hoping he would grow in the relationship and come around," the source added. "Things only got tougher after the show when they had to start making big life decisions."
Another source told Us Weekly that Crawley is struggling after the split. “She really fell hard for Dale and saw a future with him,” the insider said. "To have this all blow up in her face has been really difficult. The breakup was hard for the both of them at the end.” The relationship reportedly “became really messy” towards the end, according to the source, and Crawley is “not holding up well" now that it's over.
While Crawley has not commented publicly on the split, Moss posted a statement to his Instagram account. "This is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time," Moss wote. "We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself—something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."
