Jean Trebek, the widow of Alex Trebrek, spent her first Christmas holiday without her husband by her side.
On Saturday (December 26), Trebek took to Instagram to share a sweet shot of her son, Matthew, 30, and daughter, Emily, 27. "Time is too precious to be spent on anything other than kindness," she captioned the shot. "Many blessings of beauty and joy to you and all you hold dear!"
As you know, Trebek died on November 8 after his battle with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. He was 80. Since the devastating news about the Jeopardy! host spread, a flood of tributes for the late TV icon have hit social media.
Previously, Jean honored her late husband with a tender message on Instagram. "My family and I sincerely thank you all for your compassionate messages and generosity," she captioned a photo of the pair on their wedding day. "Your expressions have truly touched our hearts. Thank you so very, very much."
While Christmas was set to feature the final "new" episode of Jeopardy! with Trebek, the long-running game show later announced that the last two weeks of the month would air best-of episodes throughout the years. Trebek’s final episode as host of the show will air the week of January 4. Meanwhile, the first batch of episodes filmed since his death will see a rotating cast of guest hosts take over his seat and air throughout the week of January 11.
