'Grease' Jacket Returned To Olivia Newton-John By Mystery Auction Winner

To her surprise, Olivia Newton-John's famed Grease jacket, which sold for $243,000 at an auction, was returned to the actress.

On Wednesday (December 11), news of the return spread around the blogosphere, especially since the money from the listing was donated to the actress' cancer center. As for the winner, the champ decided to remain anonymous, but it has been confirmed via Julien’s Auctions that the unidentified man is a physician and media tech entrepreneur. The item was purchased in November and almost immediately given back to the actress. It will now be on permanent display at the Olivia Newton-John Wellness and Research Center in Melbourne, Australia.

"The odds of beating a recurring cancer using the newest emergent therapies is 1,000 fold greater than someone appearing out of the blue and buying your most famous and cherished icon and returning it to you," the winner said in a video, where his face was blurred out. "Godspeed for a quick recovery, should you ever need medical advice or support from a trusted doctor, I will be there."

Earlier this year, Newton-John revealed that she is battling breast cancer once again. She was first diagnosed in 1992, and had been in remission, before it returned in 2013. Fast forward to 2017, and it reappeared and spread to her bones and spine.
