Radio Station To Change Name to Raise Money For Local Mother with Cancer

On Friday, March 1, Alice 95.5, KTOZ will change its name to Rhiannon 95.5 to help raise awareness and funds for a local nurse and mother battling both leukemia and cervical cancer.

Rhiannon Lindley, 26, is a wife, nurse and mother of four children, all under the age of 7. On January 26, 2018 she was diagnosed with Acute B-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. What followed was a series of hospitalizations, intense chemotherapy (spinal, IV, and oral) and has continued treatments since, resulting in several potentially fatal infections. Then, in January of 2019, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and began treatments for that, as well.

Rhiannon is married with 4 small children of her own who are 6, 4, 2, & 16 months old. She also has guardianship of her 32-year-old developmentally disabled brother. At the time of her first diagnosis, she was the sole income provider for her family who were immediately thrust into an 8 month period of no income before her husband was able to return to work making significantly less than she had previously made.

For the entire day on March 1, 2019, Alice 95.5 will transform into Rhiannon 95.5, and use its airwaves and online presence to tell Rhiannon’s story and urge listeners to donate to her family’s GoFundMe account to assist with bills, both day-to-day and medical, so Rhiannon and her family can find some peace during this trying time.
