Welp... Guess I should've gone today!
A technical difficulty at Walt Disney World led to a large group of guests being let in to Magic Kingdom without having to scan their MagicBands or tickets. The system malfunction had guests lined up all the way back along the monorail ramp and ferry docks.
According to WDW News Today, issues with My Disney Experience caused the massive backup. Guests were actually held at the entrance for "some time".
The backup got so bad that staff eventually made an executive decision to let all guests in without scanning. Apparently the size of the crowds waiting outside was quickly becoming a safety concern.
I know what you're thinking! "Soooo can they reuse their tickets another day? Did they just get a free ticket to Disney World?"
It's not really clear whether or not that's true... but it kinda sounds like it.
