Join Us for SHARE the Light kick-off event on December 6!
This holiday season, we invite you to make a meaningful difference in our community by participating in the annual SHARE the Light event. Hosted by iHeart Radio, this is your chance to spread warmth, light and hope to our neighbors in need.
When: Saturday, December 6, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: Battlefield Mall parking lot (north of Macy’s near Glenstone Ave)
Stop by and donate a minimum of $10 to Project SHARE, and as a token of our appreciation, you’ll receive one red and one green LED bulb—a festive way to light up your home while making a positive impact. We accept cash, check or card. As always, 100% of your donation is given to local families in need.
What is Project SHARE?
Project SHARE, short for Springfieldians Helping Area Residents with Energy, is a community program that provides emergency assistance to City Utilities customers facing financial hardship. The program helps qualifying households with heating costs from January through May, and customers can receive help multiple times until they reach the maximum benefit amount.
Funded entirely by donations from caring individuals, businesses and CU employees, Project SHARE is administered locally by the Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC). Every dollar raised stays right here in Springfield to help neighbors in need. Your generosity helps brighten lives and brings warmth to homes during the coldest months of the year.
Can’t make it to the event? You can still contribute to the cause:
- Round up your City Utilities bill: Consider rounding up your monthly utility bill to the next dollar—an easy way to give year-round.
- Make a donation: Donate online now or send a check payable to Project SHARE to: City Utilities PO Box 551 Springfield, MO 65801
You can also call CU at (417) 863-9000 to discuss your contribution.
Let’s come together this holiday season to SHARE the light and illuminate the path to warmth and well-being for those in need. Your kindness can make all the difference!
