Throwback Video - Alanis Morissette Makes "Scary" TV Debut

With little, to no, live music actually happening right now we've found some comfort in revisiting some of our favorite live music moments from artists you hear on our station. Today, this throwback moment is actually twice as cool because not only was it the TV debut of Alanis Morissette, but her drummer on the show was actually Taylor Hawkins, who would later go one to be a founding member of Foo Fighters with Dave Grohl.

Anyway - in 1995, Late Night with David Letterman invited Alanis to perform despite her being relatively unknown in the states at the time. But as you know, that would soon change once Jagged Little Pill gained traction and became the biggest selling album of the 90's. But back on Late Night - nobody really knew who they were seeing or what to expect. One audience member was later quoted after this performance as saying, "...we had no idea who she was, but she scared the hell out of us." You and most men in the 90's, buddy.

Enjoy!
